Nita Vera

I am a visual artist combining photography, text, cinematography, performance and installation in my artistic practice.

Currently I am working on my master thesis at the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture in Helsinki as well as doing my minor studies in the Department of Film and Scenography at the Aalto University and in Literature at the University of Helsinki.

Meanwhile I am working on a collaborative project Invisible Sibling with three psychotheraphists Riikka Airo, Maiju Tokola and Nina Torkler aiming to find a way to give more attention to children with handicapped siblings. The project is interdisciplinary using photography as a tool to deal with social and psychological issues.

Nita Vera created a deeply personal and yet removed photo essay about her family. What started out as a personal project grew to a universal story that touches anyone with family issues. It especially taught me how universally complicated all human relationships can be.
